Before duckweed control | Jones Lake Management

Rampant duckweed growth blanketed this pond in the summer months. Our team selected the best herbicide for the site and water use. By late summer, the floating weed had been eradicated.

After identifying the floating weed as duckweed, our team selected the best herbicide for the site and water use. Dense vegetative growth can pose a risk to fish and other wildlife as it dies and decomposes, using dissolved oxygen in this process. By selecting a slow acting herbicide, our biologists minimized risk to the fish while effectively eliminating the weed. We also implemented a beneficial microbe regimen to metabolize excess nutrients, slowing the eutrophication process and reducing the likelihood of recurrence.
