Before pithophora treatment photo | Jones Lake Management

This pond was overrun with pithophora - a type of filamentous algae that is coarse to the touch and difficult to manage. Our biologists selected the correct algaecide mixture and rate to eradicate this difficult to manage algae.

Our client had struggled for years with rampant pithophora growth in the shallow corner of their lake. They had purchased an aerating fountain to help improve water quality, but it wasn't enough. Our team of biologists identified the algae as pithophora and shifted the management strategy to include appropriate algaecide mixtures and rates. The result was an eradication of the nuisance algae and restoration of the lake's beautiful appearance.
