Ornamental Fish
Koi are a descendant of the minnow family. They have been selectively bred for more than 1000 years to produce the brilliant colorations that we have today. The Japanese cherish these fish for their colors and longevity. Prize koi are quite valuable and have been sold in Japan for more than $1 million. These brightly colored fish make an excellent attraction for any water feature; a garden pond just wouldn’t be complete without koi. We carry many sizes and varieties from which to choose. They may range in size from a few inches up to 3 feet. Due to their feeding habits, we do not recommend stocking these fish in earth bottom ponds or lakes that are intended for gamefish.
